ULC Packages Release Notes

The Canoo RIA Suite is designed in a modular fashion in terms of packages with specific features, thus allowing you to choose features according to your own needs. This way you only pay for those packages which you actually require.

• ULC Table Plus:Implement complex tabular requirements like header columns, footer table, multi column sorting and filtering.
• ULC Web Integration : Impart the functionality of a web browser (e.g., Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) to your ULC application so as to present any web content and service like Google Maps, Flash Player, etc.
• ULC Office Integration: Import and export office related documents, such as Excel, Word (both binary and XML) and PDF, from your ULC application.
• ULC Enterprise Portal Integration: Integrate your ULC application into an existing enterprise portal or any web-based applications platform.
• ULC Load: Load and stress test your ULC application with ULC Load.

Developer License

Each developer using one or more ULC libraries on the class path when compiling requires a ULC developer license. The ULC developer license allows for the development of ULC applications using the public API. The ULC framework (both server-side and client-side) may also be customized by means of the public API. ULC developer licenses may not be sublicensed.

The ULC server-side libraries may only be sublicensed if they are bundled with a ULC-based product. In addition, a ULC-based product must add substantial value to ULC. The (customized) UI Engine may only be distributed and sublicensed if it is used for running a ULC-based product. Sublicensing and/or commercial deployment of the server-side and client-side libraries is only permitted if the bundled ULC-based product has been developed with a developer license. In this case the run-time license is free.

Upgrades are free within 3 months of the purchase. Canoo recommends purchase of support for each license. This will entitle you to receive free upgrades for a period of one year from the date of purchase of support.

Educational License

The educational license is available free of charge for educational institutions only. It limits the development and deployment of ULC applications to the institution’s site. The educational license is feature equivalent to the commercial developer license.

Evaluation License

For evaluation purposes, an evaluation license that is valid for 90 days is available here. The evaluation license is feature equivalent to the commercial developer license. The evaluation license does not permit sub-licensing or commercial deployment of any code that has been developed with it.
